I never really thought that Jesus dying on the cross for our sins was that big a deal. After all, I used to think, if I was put in a position where I could save many lives with my life, I wouldn't mind giving up my own life. For the common good, you know.
Ah that was what I thought. But of course, I guess, when it actually comes to a situation like that, selfish me would never be brave enough to hang on a cross for hours in excruciating pain. I would probably have thought up excuses :(
And what if, what if Jesus says,
"Even if you were the only person on earth, I would have died for you." I want to cry!
I think that is such a beautiful line.
Jesus thank you for your sacrifice. You were only human, with very human thoughts and human feelings, but yet You gave Your life on the cross for me so that I may have eternal life. You love me so much I do not deserve it. I thank You with all my heart.
